Second Annual Art Trail Success
The South Northamptonshire Arts Trail goes from strength to strength.
Last year, which was the group’s first official Trail, some 27 artists were involved in ten different venues. This year has seen the group swell to 37 artists in twelve venues.
Our chairman, Sue Rudland, says that the number of visitors to all the venues has more than doubled this year and expects the trend to continue as the group grows in numbers and the Trail becomes better known as a fun and interesting annual event. The idea of the Art Trail is for visitors to have the opportunity of not only seeing artists and craftsmen’s work but to meet them and in many cases, watch them demonstrating their skills. There was a wide variety of art to see; painters, sculptors, jewellers, textile artists, photographers, ceramicists, glass artists, woodturners and more. The group is looking forward to the next trail in 2016 and plans are already being discussed.
