Hannah Thompson - Textile Artist
Hannah’s life took a new direction three years ago and this change allowed her the space and time to re-connect with her love of textiles. Her passion is creating images in fabric and thread, subjects are varied often inspired by nature or buildings and occasionally abstract, letting the fabric take the lead in her creative process.
A wide range of often reclaimed and reused materials feature in her work, she loves to up-cycle, with a mixture of hand and free motion machine embroidery.
Hannah also runs creative craft workshops and social stitch from her home and by invitation at other locations. Regular classes include Indian Block Printing, Needle felting, Embroidery, Rag Rug making and weaving.
