I am inspired by the human figure and our interactions with the natural world. What I observe, but also what science (particularly quantum physics) and mythology reveal.
Combining drawing with the presence and materiality of sculpture through the use of line and space, I create multi-dimensional drawings. Paring down the detail to find the essence of my subjects, the resulting sculptures exist as part of their environment – drawn from it rather than imposing upon it, casting shadows on their surroundings, redrawing themselves.
Made using metals and found natural materials to form the lines, these ephemeral sculptures have the appearance of fragility but are shaped and woven with a subtle strength.
